College basketball coaches have a very tough job. Between their jam-packed schedules and the challenge of scouting domestic talent and internationals overseas, it’s no wonder they’re leaning more on European scouts and agents to spot and connect with potential recruits.
The game’s changed a lot with Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights coming into play. It made the U.S. collegiate system a lot more attractive to young European athletes. They get their degree on a scholarship while earning money playing basketball in the United States. If that’s not the basketball version of the ‘American Dream’, I don’t know what is.
